Voting is closed! We know that you’re all anxious to find out who won, so we’ll finish tallying up the votes and contact the winners as soon as humanly possible. Check back to see if your favorite is the lucky winner.
Remember, the adult winner gets $200 worth of gift certificates to local restaurants (Alfred's Victorian, Blue Bistro and Wine Bar, Cafe Fresco, Carley's & Hilton Harrisburg) and the children's winner gets a $100 scholarship for art lessons from the Art Association of Harrisburg plus art supplies worth $75 from Blick Art Supply.
2008 Spotobe Community Art Contest Rules
NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. VOID WHERE PROHIBITED.
Eligibility. All artists, amateur or professional, may enter the contest. All ages and experience levels are encouraged to participate, however, immediate family members of the judges or andCulture/Spotobe employees cannot participate. A junior division is open to artists who are ages 16 and under as of July 12, 2008.
Deadline. All artwork must be submitted with a completed entry form by 6:00 p.m., July 12, 2008, on-site at the Spotobe booth at the Downtown Improvement District (DID) Street Festival, taking place on Third Street between Market and Walnut Streets. Name, age, city, state and email address (or, if no email address, a working phone number) must be included on the back of your entry.
Medium. Only artwork created on coasters with painting supplies provided will be accepted.
Number of Entries. Multiple entries per artist may be submitted, provided that no one is waiting to participate. In other words, if all the seats are full, artists may paint one entry, then must give up their seat and go to the back of the line to create another entry. Group/team submissions will not be accepted.
Judging. A panel of Central PA-based artists and journalists will judge all entries for creativity and subject matter. Finalists in both the junior and adult divisions will appear online at spotobe.com/artcontest for voting by the public by August 1, 2008. Finalists' physical entries will be displayed at the DID's Welcome Center at 22 N. Second Street, Harrisburg, PA 17101.
Online Voting. The community will have approximately one month to vote for their favorite finalist in each division, and may vote once in each division daily during the voting period. The winner in each division will be the entry that receives the most online votes.
Announcement of Winners. The winner in each division will be notified by Spotobe by email (or by phone if that's the only contact info provided). If the winner cannot be contacted or does not accept the prize within seven (7) days after the first attempt to contact such winner, the finalist in that division with the next highest number of votes will be notified. Once a winner is confirmed, said winner will be publicly announced at www.spotobe.com/artcontest.
Prizes. The winner of the junior division (16 and under) will win a $100 scholarship from the Art Association of Harrisburg, which can be redeemed for classes. In addition, the winner will get to choose a kit of art materials relevant to the classes they select, with a value up to $75. Parental/custodial consent will be required in order for the junior division winner to claim his or her prize. The winner of the adult division (17 and over) will receive dining gift certificates from Alfred's Victorian ($50), Blue Bistro and Wine Bar ($50), Café Fresco ($25), Carley's ($25) and Hilton Harrisburg ($50).
Loss, Damage and Return of Art. Every care will be taken with the entries, but Spotobe cannot accept responsibility for any damage or loss. We regret that we cannot return artwork submitted in this contest. All entries become the property of Spotobe.
Copyright & Reproduction. All artwork entered must be original. Spotobe reserves the right to reproduce any entries submitted without payment (prizes for each winner notwithstanding).
Other Terms and Conditions. By accepting a prize, the winners agree that Spotobe may use their name and demographic information for advertising and promotional purposes without further consideration, unless prohibited by law. BY ACCEPTING A PRIZE, THE WINNERS AGREE THAT THE SPONSOR(s), [ITS/THEIR] SUBSIDIARIES, AFFILIATES, ADVERTISING AND PROMOTION AGENCIES, AND ALL OF THE SPONSOR'S OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, REPRESENTATIVES AND AGENTS, WILL HAVE NO LIABILITY WHATSOEVER FOR, AND WILL BE HELD HARMLESS BY WINNER FOR ANY LIABILITY FOR ANY INJURY, LOSS OR DAMAGES OF ANY KIND TO PERSONS, INCLUDING DEATH, AND PROPERTY, DUE IN WHOLE OR IN PART, DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, FROM THE ACCEPTANCE, POSSESSION, USE OR MISUSE OF THE PRIZE OR PARTICIPATION IN THIS CONTEST OR PARTICIPATION IN ANY CONTEST OR PRIZE-RELATED ACTIVITY.
