Now in its 21st year, the M&T Bank New Years Eve Celebration has become South Central Pennsylvania’s premier New Year’s Eve event. Hit up restaurant row and them move down to market square to ring in the New Year.
Market Square and City Government Center are alive with unique performers, musical entertainment and children activities. Non-stop musical entertainment will be featured on the M&T Countdown Stage and on the Children’s Stage located inside City Government Center, where families will be delighted by the children’s balloon artist and face painter and musical entertainers while they snack on cookies, hot chocolate and coffee, available free of charge.
At 60 seconds before midnight, Mayor Reed will signal the decent of the traditional lighted strawberry from the top of the Hilton Harrisburg and Towers, landing at precisely the moment the New Year begins and signaling the launch of the dramatic "street level" fireworks display that will illuminate the downtown sky and bring the year in with a bang!
