Wildwood Park will launch the celebration of National Wetlands Month with a day full of exciting and fun family oriented activities. This free festival begins at 7:30 a.m. with a bird walk. At 9 a.m. the festival exhibits open. Enjoy programs on mammals, a stormwater walk, a discovery walk, a creek critter search, programs by Nate McKelvie highlighting mammals, reptiles and amphibians and birds and a presentation by Dr. Thomas Peck of HACC and retired veterinarian, Dr. Ed Martin on honey bees. At 2:30 p.m., a special program by ZooAmerica will cap off the day with live animals that are native to Pennsylvania.
Throughout the day, listen to live folk music by the Barnstormers, learn about recycling and green living, visit the children’s craft and activity areas or the aquatic insect aquarium. Kids can plant sunflower seeds to take home or drop in at the face painting table. There will be food for the family and fun for all.
