Throughout the year, the Astronomical Society of Harrisburg gives the public access not only to the Naylor Observatory, but to its wealth of astronomical knowledge. Take a closer look at what lies beyond our world.
The Society is a non-profit organization and requests a $3-$3 donation per person from those attending public observation sessions. That's less than the cost of a movie, and the show they provide is truly out of this world. Your donation will help cover the costs of opening the obsesrvatory to the public.
If you plan on attending, the Society requests that you turn your headlights off (use your parking lights) when entering the observatory. If your vehicle is equipped with daytime running lights, arrive prior to sunset and park at the lower end of the driveway.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Public Observing can only be held if the skies are clear. If the weather is questionable, please call the observatory at 717-938-6041 an hour before the session to make sure that it will be open.
